A Trip to the Textile Museum
On Wednesday, I went to the Textile Museum. We went on the school bus with partners. When we reached the museum we went outside and waited for our teachers. When our teachers came we went into the museum class by class on the staircase. When we reached the second floor we took off our jackets and gave them to people.
First, we went into the first room. One old woman taught us about clothes. She also showed us cotton in different colours. On the walls, there are drawers. One drawer had lots of cocoons. In the room there is also a loom that makes textiles.
We went to another room. Every kid took a string and we put beads in it and then they tied the string to make a bracelet. A woman opened a drawer and tool rubbers that had the primary colours. She put them together to make new colours.
The third room had lots of art on the walls. There was cloth on a couch from Japan.
Finally, we went into the last room. There were lots of quilts from different countries on the walls.
At noon, we rode the school bus back to school but the engine broke down. The principal came and another school bus came and we went back to school.
I liked this trip.
